We are thrilled to announce that Daniel Lipkin has joined Pathlight as Vice President of Engineering leading our R&D efforts. Daniel has more than 20 years of experience leading enterprise development organizations. Prior to joining Pathlight, he led Twitter's Data Platform team and previously was on the executive teams of Interana, Jobvite, and Saba. Daniel served on the W3 XSLT Working Group and holds eight U.S. patents. He received a BS in Computer Science from Stanford University.
Daniel on why he joined Pathlight:
I’ve spent most of my engineering career building enterprise software for creating more effective individuals and teams. Throughout, I’ve always believed in using metrics to align and drive performance, whether it be launching highly visible dashboards to drive improvements in quality and velocity or sharing burndown charts to effectively plan and track feature delivery. In fact, I even bootstrapped a startup to address the unmet need I saw for an easy-to-use, consolidated and actionable view of a company’s key business metrics.
When Alex and Trey shared with me their company’s mission to empower people to be their professional best, their approach of placing metrics front-and-center to drive individual and team success immediately resonated with me.
My excitement grew as I met more of the team. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some truly amazing engineering teams, and across many different environments, they inevitably share two characteristics: a passion for executing to delight their customers and a dedication to continuous improvement in the practice and craft of engineering. It was clear that the Pathlight team had these traits in abundance.
Since I’ve started, I’ve already seen how Pathlight is making a difference to professionals who depend on it day in and day out to answer the question, “How am I doing?” Building cutting-edge technology to help people meet their career goals and achieve greater professional success is tremendously satisfying on a personal level. I’m particularly excited about Pathlight’s potential to help the millions of frontline workers who don’t yet have an effective tool to track, understand, and improve their performance.
