The first week of October is Customer Service Week! Started over 30 years ago, this week is designated to celebrate customer service and the customer-facing employees that create positive experiences and provide exceptional support.
Great customer service team members do more than put a smile on a customer’s face. They build lasting relationships, lifelong loyalty, and contribute directly to the financial success of a business.
We are celebrating our team members and wanted to share some ideas on how to celebrate with you.
1) Leadership Thank You
Give team members special kudos from the management team: cards, formal rewards, highlights on your website/social media, or record a personalized video message for folks that work from home or remotely.
2) Fun Rewards
Offer fun prizes for individuals, teams, or departments. Gamify it and have fun with rewards like e-gift cards, PTO, home-delivered or catered lunch, or allow folks to start later in the day, or have an early weekend start.
3) Special Development Opportunities
Invest in your team by inviting a guest speaker or customer to speak, or watch a Ted Talk on a unique topic for a lunch-and-learn, or play a recorded video message from a customer highlighting how happy they are about the support they received.
4) Learn from your team
Increase morale with a contest for new customer service ideas. Ask team members for ideas to solve some plaguing problems and have a meaningful prize for the winner. Track the implementation of the answer and connect it to business results.
5) End of Day Highlights
Give praise to teams and highlight individual achievements each day. Or share with the company all the 5-star customers reviews about customer service.
